NYC Precinct Map 3.0

Our interactive map of New York City provides a comprehensive view of the city's precinct and precinct sector boundaries, along with crime/incident information. This tool offers several useful features:

• Know your location: The map can display your current location in real-time and can even speak it aloud.
• Displays current precinct/sector: You can easily see the precinct or sector you are currently in.
• Search by address: Find any location in the city by entering its address.
• Quick links: Convenient shortcuts allow you to call the precinct, access your current location, navigate to a precinct, or visit the official precinct website.
• Layers: You can choose to display different layers on the map, including sector borders, precinct borders, satellite view, and street view.
• Associate additional phone numbers with command: You have the option to link extra phone numbers with specific commands or actions.
• Locate Neighborhood Policing Sector: Easily find the sector associated with neighborhood policing initiatives.
• Saves last searched address: The map remembers your last searched address for quick access.
• Show crime/incidents by precinct/sector: You can view and track crime or incidents based on precinct or sector boundaries.
• Crime/incident details: Get additional information about crimes or incidents, such as victim/perpetrator descriptions, etc.

The source data for this map is obtained from https://opendata.cityofnewyork.us/ and has been meticulously curated by our application developer. The curation process includes various tasks such as map visualization using CSV/Text format as the source, defining border and fill colors, associating crimes/incidents with appropriate precincts/sectors, linking addresses with precincts/sectors, applying crime/incident filters, and aggregating crime/incident data.
